The fields we work within tend to suffer from a lack of cross-sector coordination that leads to a waste of resources, ineffective programming, and ultimately hinders our ability to ensure that our communities thrive. First 5 LA’s Communities Department launched the Learning Consortium project inAugust 2019 with the goal of combating these challenges in the field of community capacity strengthening. This session will highlight learnings from the initiative, specifically touching on the questions: How do we cultivate an alignment of strategies and improve resource sharing across sectors? How do we promote collective learning and support experimentation in a cross-sector learning space? How do we measure the impact of this type of initiative? And how do we do all of this virtually? This session will pay particular attention to the initiative’s three priority evaluation areas: investments and decision-making, process and design, and participant experience.
