Description

How do you create an effective frontline community engagement process?
How can you evolve that process to achieve community empowerment and cross-community mobilization?

Our team will present strategic frameworks, tools, and practices for including voices and information that matter in addressing critical issues of our time. We will share stories of successes and some failures to bring the process to life. Audience members will learn ways to draw out and upon the lived experience of communities they serve and better understand their needs. They will also learn there is no “one-size fits all” approach and that customization will be required according to the circumstances and cultures of various communities. Understanding the context within which the work will be done is a critical first step in designing an engagement process.  In our conversation with the audience, we will also explore how to progress from community engagement to community empowerment, action, and cross-community mobilization as we confront the forces of disempowerment that challenge us all today.
