Alex Nana-Sinkam is Senior Design Director at IDEO.org, where she leads multi-stakeholder initiatives to transform systems shaping health, education, and economic opportunity. Her work spans global development and U.S. social systems, with a focus on equity-driven innovation in U.S. healthcare, public health infrastructure, and the social determinants of health. She guides portfolio strategy and interdisciplinary teams, partnering with funders, governments, and nonprofits to move from insight to implementation at scale.

Previously, Alex co-led IDEO.org’s Nairobi studio and led IDEO’s Global Equity portfolio, delivering initiatives on refugee inclusion, immunization systems, racial equity in education, and inclusive health and social services with partners including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, USAID, GAVI, the Inter-American Development Bank, and Imaginable Futures.

Alex holds degrees from Stanford University and has pursued graduate study in Clinical Psychology at Columbia University. Raised by a Cameroonian father and Irish-American mother, she brings a global, relational perspective to her work.
