Jonathan Macias, Assistant County Manager for Dona Ana County Jonathan Macias was hired as Assistant County Manager in February of 2022. He received a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) and holds a master's degree from Adams State University.
Macias began his career, at UTEP where he oversaw millions of dollars in research funding through the Office of Research and Sponsored Projects. Prior to joining the County, he served as Executive Vice President of Incite Consultancy where he created and implemented external funding strategies for local governments and organizations across the country.
Before becoming Assistant County Manager, Macias served as the County's Grants Manager, overseeing more than $16 million in Emergency Rental Assistance funds and $42 million in American Rescue Plan Act funding.
Macias oversees and supports the following County departments: Animal Control, Engineering & Road, Facilities & Parks, Fire & Emergency Services, Fleet, Information Technology, Internal Auditor, Jetport, Public Information, Utilities, strategic plan, and special projects.
