This session will document how Borderplex Connect, a participant in the Dallas Feds Advancing Digital Inclusion initiative and a regional coalition of cross-sector stakeholders working to address the digital divide in west Texas and southern New Mexico, has built trust and co-ownership among community partners and residents to advance its goals. BCX came together as two separate initiatives to merge and stand up a board that spans across several county lines and a state line. Trust building was required to ensure all stakeholders were committed to working for the whole region, and not a particular city, county, or state. Trust building has also been instrumental for BCX to reach residents in colonias (unincorporated border communities) and incorporate their views into the work and solutions.
