Laurie has extensive experience in nonprofit leadership, strategic planning, program management, and partnership development. In collaboration with the Haiti Development Institute and seven other partners, she is currently engaged in a collective-impact, community development initiative in Arcahaie, Haiti. Prior to that, Laurie served as Vice President of International Operations at YouthBuild International. In that role, she built high-performing, cross-cultural teams and led large-scale, multi-year program initiatives in diverse countries. She partnered with young people and cross-sector stakeholders in communities in Haiti, Brazil, Guyana, and Iraq to co-design and implement their country’s first YouthBuild programs. These programs provided workforce development opportunities for thousands of young people who lacked access to quality education and decent work due to poverty and systemic barriers. Laurie has a master’s degree in International Relations and an MBA.
