Collective impact initiatives hold potential for community transformation. But, time-limited funding threatens sustainability and the prospect of realizing a collaborative’s most ambitious goals. In pursuit of greater sustainability, Seeding Success–a Memphis-based Strive Together Cradle to Career Network member–has sought to tie a collective impact initiative it is facilitating to public policy change. In this session, Seeding Success Policy Department staff will discuss political and policy development considerations critical to the design and management of policy change through collective impact. They will examine tasks such as identification of and partnership with elected officials who can champion the work, and establishing a policy development process that lends itself to broad-based community engagement.
