This session will discuss strategies for community engagement toward collective impact. We will examine facilitation models and outreach strategies for broad community engagement, and we will talk through what has worked well in one particular case. The case study we provide comes from Pomona,CA, where partner organizations and community members are working together on a community wealth building program that also includes policy-level changes. In this session we will cover what has worked well in our community engagement, who we have included, and how these engagement sessions build toward collective impact through the establishment of a worker-owned cooperative. The session addresses questions such as: how do we get started with community engagement? What models of community engagement work well in marginalized communities? And how do we bridge from community engagement toward concrete programs or policies?
