Alex grew up and lives in Koʻolaupoko, Oʻahu. She is a graduate of the University of Hawai‘I at Mānoa with a degree in Natural Resources & Environmental Management. She is an alumnus of the Agricultural Leadership Program of Hawaiʻi and serves on the Kaulunani Urban and Community Forestry Council. Alex has been with Kuaʻāina Ulu ʻAuamo (KUA) since 2012. KUA is a local nonprofit and backbone organization for biocultural stewardship networks. At KUA, she serves as the E Alu Pū Coordinator and helps to organize and facilitate network governance, gatherings, workshops, and trainings. She is a mother of two and a Merrie Monarch dancer and student with Hālau Mōhala ʻIlima.
