Pascal Djohossou is The Hunger Project Regional Director for West Africa since 2019. He has been involved in The Hunger Project since 2001 and has served as the Country Director before being appointed for his current position. Pascal is an agronomist educated in Benin, Côte d’ivoire and France, with a specialty in forestry management with the participatory approach involving local communities, local Non Governmental Organizations, Governmental stakeholders at both local and central level. Prior to joining The Hunger Project, Pascal Djohossou worked with communities in multistakeholders and multisectorial approach while being involved in a government project : ‘’Projet de Gestion des Ressources Naturelles’’ (Natural Resources Management Project) co-funded by the World Bank , the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Agence Française de Développement (French Development Agency), the German Cooperation through GIZ, and the Benin Government itself. Pascal has coordinated the Watershed Management Component of the Natural Resources Management Project with pluridisciplinary teams including designing and managing:

  • social mobilization and grassroot communities organization with focus on gender in the context of  decentralization
  • facilitation for system analysis and conception of local development strategies and planning
  • project formulation and implementation in diverses fields including environment management with focus on natural resources, land tenure, food and nutrition security, youth mobilization, entrepreneurship development.

His work has led him to publish many papers and participate in many international site visits, conferences and trainings.
Pascal Djohossou was born in the Mono region of Benin. He is married, and the father of three children. Pascal’s hobbies include music, photography and the composition of poetry.
