Dr. La Tonya D. Mouzon is an education and nonprofit leader based in Memphis, Tennessee, with over 20 years of experience spanning classroom teaching, school administration, and executive leadership. A devoted follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, she views her professional calling as a ministry of service and compassion. Currently serving as an Executive Director of a nonprofit organization, Dr. Mouzon brings extensive expertise in strategic leadership, program development, community engagement, and curriculum development, always guided by her faith and commitment to making a positive difference.
Her professional journey includes roles as Director of Student Services, where she supervised various district-wide programs to include counselors and social workers in support of student achievement and well-being. As an Assistant Principal, she managed student activities, evaluated teacher performance, and supervised instructional staff. Dr. Mouzon also spent several years as an elementary school teacher, developing and implementing curriculum for multiple grade levels, approaching each role as an opportunity to demonstrate Christ's love through dedicated service and care for students and colleagues.
Dr. Mouzon is a certified Elementary School Teacher, Public School Administrator, and previously served as a Certified Health Education Specialist and Certified Trainer for Behavior Threat Assessment with the Department of Homeland Security. Throughout her career, she has consistently integrated her Christian faith into her professional practice, believing that education is a powerful tool for transformation and service to her community and to God's greater purpose.
