Ngāi Tūhoe and Ngāi Pākehā. Louise’s leadership experience spans all sectors, having held senior leadership and governance roles within Government, the private sector, philanthropy and the NGO sector. She has been an advisor to the Prime Minister of New Zealand, director of companies, led a collaborative government office and has aided the set-up of social innovation labs for Government and Philanthropy. Louise’s passion is to help build the next era of conscious leaders to enable radical innovation for personal, social and environmental change. Louise has studied collective and intergenerational trauma and runs her company Unity House. She is the author and founder of social enterprise ReRoot, a self and systems change book and movement, a Centre for Social Impact associate and for 12 years was the Director of the New Zealand Leadership Programme. She is also founder of the Pākehā Project, a leadership project to help decolonise Aotearoa. Louise describes herself as a braided river coming from Māori (Ngāi Tūhoe) and Ngati Pākehā whakapapa (ancestry). Her work is committed to dismantling and dissolving dominant paradigms and structures to bring about a co-created world in which all people and beings can thrive. She works globally and in Aotearoa on restorative systems change.
