Description

This session will present a practical framework and process method for working with and beginning to heal the collective trauma of the past, to create equitable futures. It will address the question: How can we create equitable systems through restorative system change work? People have gathered around campfires forever to build connection, work through challenges and create solutions. We must now learn to meet together differently to create new systems that do not perpetuate injustice, trauma and inequity. We will share practical ways to include healing in systems work drawing on Haumanu - our indigenous framework and process for this work. Key insights relate to better understanding how trauma relates to systems change, the role of the central nervous system and what it takes to put healing and restoration at the centre of our systems.
