We know systemic change is needed to address the complex problems we face in society, but how do we go about it? In a Safe Routes to School countywide network of collaborative teams, we have been using an approach that pivots around four critical systems change levers–shifting power, transforming land use, resetting culture, and leveraging other systems. We will share how we are utilizing these levers to make meaningful change in local transportation and education systems that addresses climate change and advances equity. You will learn how to use these levers in your own collaborative(s), making systems change actionable and possible.
