Speaker Bio

Hadih everyone- it is an honour to spend some time with you at the Collective Impact Summitt, I know I will be learning as much as I am sharing!  A bit about me: I am an Indigenous woman, mother, leader and advocate who has been working in the helping field for a long time.  I am from T’Sou-ke Nation on the Salish Sea and have been living and raising my small family on unceded and occupied lands of the Lheidli T’enneh for many years now.  My background is in counselling and leadership and I have worked in a variety of spaces along the way- elementary, secondary and post-secondary education systems, not-for-profits, health authorities, justice and Indigenous communities.  My passion, both personally and professionally, is centred in advocacy for equity, diversity and inclusion as well as creating active anti-racist workplace cultures to support culturally safer experiences of care for Indigenous, Black and People of Colour who access health services, among others, in our province.  I am currently supporting this work in my role with Foundry BC leading our work provincially in Cultural Safety and Humility as well as JEDI and anti-racist practice leadership development.
