Hi all, I care deeply about equity, mental health and community development and I am fortunate to be working in a position where my passion, values and beliefs intertwine deeply and provide me ample opportunity to grow.  Ancestrally, I am a second-generation immigrant and settler who was raised on the lands of the Syilx speaking nations and now reside on Coast Salish nation lands.  My parents immigrated from the Punjab region in India.   My background includes advocacy and awareness with South Asian Mental health, a Master’s in Public Health and co-leading work to design and support healthier communities.  This past year I have had the opportunity to lead alongside passionate and brilliant colleagues and consultants in addressing anti-racism at an organizational level through the co-design of an anti-racist assessment process within our organization (backbone) and a network lead organization. Partners in the process include our working group members, leaders across organizations, youths, and external experts.  Moving beyond education campaigns, to slow and steady transformational change has been one of the most exciting experiences in my career so far, and I look forward to sharing this experience with you.
