Description

Relationships are fundamental to effective collective impact, but navigating people and personalities can be challenging. This session will share theDevelopmental Relationships framework (Search Institute) to make relationship-building more tangible. Developmental relationships recognize that people grow more successfully when they have caring, supportive relationships. The framework has been applied to collective impact initiatives in theMidwest, with backbone support from the University of Kansas Center for Public Partnerships and Research, to create a foundation for effective cross-agency collaboration. This session will share lessons learned from the use of developmental relationships in collective impact at the state and local levels. Participants will have an opportunity to get hands-on with identifying action steps for use in their own practice. The session will build on skills that backbone organizations, coalitions, community partners, and others bring to the work by creating an opportunity for increased intentionality and connection.
